I illustrated Rudyard Kipling’s The Elephant’s Child while in Sierra Leone, using all the glorious vegetation I saw there. Here are a few of the images. I had no computer or scanner so just did them over and over till they were right — the text, in particular, I did so many times until it was perfect and I could move on to the art.
